There have been so many different tools that I have used throughout my educational career. Growing up, my generation was one of the first to have technology at our fingertips throughout our K-12 years. "Tools should be employed to aid the learning," (pg. 73 Nussbaum-Beach & Hall, 2012). The chapter explains that Web 2.0 tools are not useful to users unless they understand how the application/tool is helping them learn. You should always understand the benefits of the tool before use. For example, I explored the use of Canva before downloading and buying the pro version.
In the book, the author gives us insight into a website called Delicious.com. This website is a tool to organize tagged websites This is a valuable tool for a learning community to connect and see what research is going on within the community. Subscribing to others in your network can be very convenient because once you are subscribed you will be able to see what others have recently tagged. Overall, this is an extremally useful tool that many could benefit from.
The author then goes on to discuss online tools that help to learn networks. "Blogs have become the fastest-growing personal publishing medium because blogging platforms such as Blogger, WordPress, and Tumblr, all are free for users, allowing you to create your own blogging website in a matter of minutes without any knowledge of web design or HTML" (page 77). Blogs are just one of many tools available online to collaborate and learn from those in your learning communities. Since tools like blogs can be so useful, it is best to remember to post accordingly and be professional for those who will see your work.
As a future Public Relations Professional, I need to be at the top of my game regarding Web 2.0 tools. My job basically relies on digital media and will continue to as time goes on. Keeping tabs on all that is happening in the world is crucial, and many of these online tools can help me prepare myself and my colleagues.

Nice breakdown of chapter 5!It seems rewarding as after completion of this course, digital portfolio, everything you learned is directly applicable to your future career. As for your question regarding, does web tools 2.0 prepare us for our professional careers after graduating? Yes, definitely it does, as with changing demands of digital age, many careers are offering remote and hybrid positions. How is it possible to work in these non traditional settings without knowhow of web tools 2.0.I am myself planning on learning about these tools further after finishing my class so I can get the maximum benefit from these after graduating and apply these in my future career.
